Jennifer Fischer
Jennifer Fischer is a member of the Rebuilding Alliance Board of Directors. A film editor, Texas native, and avid traveler, she received her BA from Sarah Lawrence College (2000) and an MA in Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University (2003).
Her film projects include a self-produced documentary short, "Songs for Palestine," and two fictional short films: "Roger," selected to the New England Film and Video Festival and currently airing on
atomfilms.com and "Rachel's Fortune," selected to three children's film festivals. She is currently working on a feature film to be shot in June and two new documentary film projects.
In 2005, Jennifer co-founded the Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival with Ramon Hamilton. The festival recently expanded, opening the SCV Film Center, with filmmaking workshops for youth and low-cost resources for independent filmmakers. Jennifer and Ramon see film as a medium that can educate and bridge cultural divides, provoke thought, and provide important escape from the daily grind.
Jennifer has served of the Assistant Executive Director of an NGO in Los Angeles and has worked as a consultant for both the Outreach Center for the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard and at the Outreach Center for Near Eastern Studies at UCLA.
