The Rebuilding Alliance works hard to become a well run nonprofit organization. We strive to meet the metrics developed by the Community Foundation of Silicon Valley as our guiding principles.

  1. Mission Vision and Alignment

    • Clarity of Mission
    • Vision translated into concrete set of overarching goals
    • Ability and tendency to develop and refine concrete, realistic strategic plan
    • Overall strategy of the agency and alignment of programs and services with mission
  2. Community Engagement and Impact

    • Ability to monitor the landscape: knowledge and understanding of other players
    • Effectiveness in building and leveraging key relationships and networks
    • Effectiveness in serving an identifiable community; including long term impact
  3. Programs and Services

    • Core programs and services are aligned with the mission
    • Clear identification of the population served and how well the organization serves it.
    • Evaluation process that leads to programmatic practice improvement
  4. Leadership

    • Board of Directors – composition and commitment: diversity in fields of practice and expertise
    • Proof of Board involvement
    • Active involvement and stability of strong leadership (Board, staff, volunteers)
  5. Systems and Infrastructure

    • Qualifications and background of management and professional staff
    • Infrastructure supports the needs of the organization
    • Evidence of a system for measuring organization′s performance and progress
  6. Sound Financial Management

    • History of balanced budgets
    • Diversified base of financial support from the community
    • Presence of an active and effective fundraising program
