Ramadan Blessings:

Eid Clothing for Palestine Children

We’re short of our goal

538 children in Gaza got to choose and wear a dress and shoes on Eid and had a joyful Eid. We need your help to meet the goal.

Background

Eid is a joyful and exciting time for Muslim children. Muslim children, like other children, want a special outfit for Eid when they meet their family and friends. Unfortunately, due to poverty hundreds of thousands of Gaza children cannot have new clothes on Eid. Our partner NGOs based in Gaza identified 538 children from the most marginalized families in their area. We asked for your help to give 538 children in Gaza a chance to select their Eid clothes. An Eid outfit for a child, including shoes, cost $50.

Because of your support, 200 children were able to choose an Eid outfit in 2021 right before the bombing started. In 2022, 400 children went for Eid shopping.

538 Children went for Eid shopping this year!

Thank you for making this Eid delightful and memorable for Gaza’s children. All 538 children, including 109 children with Phenylketonuria (PKU) and 92 disabled children, went to shop for Eid outfits and shoes during the Ramadan week before Eid.

In Gaza, our four Palestinian partner NGO's took children shopping in the North, South, and Center of Gaza:

  • Women Programs Center — Rafah, Gaza

  • Al Amal Society for Rehabilitation – Rafah, Gaza

  • Youth Vision Society – Beach Camp, Gaza City

  • Al Basma Club for the Disabled – Gaza City and Beit Lahia, Gaza

224 children, including 109 children with PKU, were taken for shopping by Youth Vision Society

122 children bought clothes in Rafah with the help of Women Programs Center

100 children chose Eid clothes with the help of El Amal Organization

92 disabled children were taken for shopping by Al Basma Club for the Disabled

Even though all the children took home new outfits, we’re still short of our goal. We’re asking everyone to reach out to family and friends to help.
