Striving to keep her brother healthy in Gaza
Tahane, the sister of Issa, a child living with PKU, speaks about their family’s painful struggle amid war and displacement in Gaza. After being displaced more than a dozen times, they now live under two tarps with no blankets, winter clothes, or warmth. Issa recently broke his arm and leg and has no access to his special PKU formula or food. Without treatment, his condition worsens daily. Despite everything, Tahane and her parents do their best to comfort him, holding onto hope and asking for the simplest needs: safety, warmth, and care for Issa.
Rebuilding Alliance team in Gaza has recently provided nutritious food parcels to families with PKU patients. Right now, 194 PKU patients urgently need a steady supply of fresh fruits and vegetables. You can help provide these essential meals—bit.ly/PKU-parcels
