Ramadan Blessings: Emergency Food for Gaza and Masafer Yatta Families

Rebuilding Alliance started its Ramadan Food Drive in 2018 with 50 families only. Because of your support, we have been serving more and more families since then. In 2022, 1322 families in Gaza (more than the original target of 1200 families) received food boxes. 1358 families in Gaza, Masafer Yatta, and Bethelehm received food boxes this year. Help us meet the goal

Background

Due to a long blockade, Palestinians are suffering from poverty, malnutrition, and anemia in Gaza. Military closures in Masafer Yatta have worsened both poverty and unemployment. We asked for your support to give food boxes to deserving families in Gaza and Masafer Yatta this Ramadan. Our partner NGOs based in Gaza and Masafer Yatta identified the most marginalized families in their area.

Food Box containing essential supplies for 2 weeks

After much deliberation, our partners in Gaza put together a box containing essential food items that was sufficient for a family comprising 5-6 people for two weeks. Here’s what the food box contained.

1361 families in need received Food Boxes

Thank you for caring for 1361 Palestinian families this Ramadan and Easter. 958 needy families received food boxes in the North and South of Gaza, 253 families in the Masafer Yatta area received food boxes, and in the Bethlehem area 150 families in need received food boxes too. That means over 8,100 people received 2 weeks of nutritious food!
