Love, Learning, and Support for Gaza’s Children

120 children from underprivileged backgrounds, who cannot pay for extra help, are benefitting from free English, Science, and Arts lessons under this project. Please support this afterschool program and invest in children's future.

"Because of the free English lessons, my English improved significantly and I was able to get a high grade on my English exam,” says Jana.

We can barely afford to eat every day. We could have never afforded private tutorials,” says the mother of Lamar. "English lessons helped improve my daughter’s English language skills.”

Overview

This project was launched in response to COVID to provide free education to the underprivileged children in Gaza who did not have access to online education. The project has done well this past year with the support of three dedicated teachers and observing best safety practices--wearing masks, using sanitizers, and maintaining a safe distance in the class. After the May 2021 bombing and subsequent trauma, the teachers have taken on the additional responsibility of providing emotional support to the children.

Art Workshop for the deaf children

Rebuilding Alliance organized an art workshop for a total of 50 hearing-impaired children, age 8-16, from Jabaliya Joint School for Deaf Education. Two famous Gaza artists, Basel el Maqosui and Maysa Yousef were the art instructors.  The children were divided into two groups based on their interests. One group did collage work with Artist Maysa while the other group learned drawing from Artist Basel. The workshop lasted for five days.
