"We can’t afford anything suitable for him anymore. Even one tomato costs more than we used to spend on a whole meal.”

Five-year-old Mohammed has PKU. He recently received a supply of fresh vegetables from our Gaza team. The family was happy to receive the parcel. “It’s the kind of food he needs,” his mother explains. “But prices are so high now. We can’t afford anything suitable for him anymore. Even one tomato costs more than we used to spend on a whole meal.”
Since the war started, his mother has seen his condition worsen. He used to be playful and focused, but now he is more irritable and withdrawn. He has trouble concentrating and has started wetting himself.
The vegetable parcel gives the family hope. Mohammed has access to real nourishment—fresh vegetables carefully selected to give his body the nutrition he needs. But one parcel a month isn’t enough to reverse the damage or meet his growing needs. “We need to consistently have healthy food—fruits, supplements, even dried fruits—anything to help him grow stronger," the mother said. “Please, we would be so grateful if there could be a regular, healthy parcel for Mohammed. It truly helps him. It gives me hope.”
