" From March until now, food and water have become nearly impossible to find. Prices are so high that most families simply cannot afford them".
By Kareem Nasrallah
Maha, English teacher in Gaza, joined us for the fifth episode of our Behind the Scenes webinar series, “Webinar with Gaza Teachers.”
Maha shared, “Since October 7th, schools across Gaza have been closed, leaving children with no safe place to learn. Families are struggling with far greater challenges—forced evacuations, like the one from Rafah, which left many in unbearable conditions like my family."
Maha added: " From March until now, food and water have become nearly impossible to find. Prices are so high that most families simply cannot afford them".
When asked about education, she said it is difficult to teach children under these circumstances. Yet she holds onto faith, saying: “We believe that God is supporting us all the time.”
"To help children spend their time learning under the ongoing bombing, my colleagues and I are preparing to take part in the pinwheel activity, a way for children to express their emotions and call for an end to this war and the suffering they have endured for two long years."
