With no access to proper nutrition, Sami struggles daily with concentration and developmental delays.

Sami is a five-year-old boy with Phenylketonuria (PKU), a genetic disorder. This week, Sami received a specialized food parcel containing fresh vegetables.

Since losing his father during the war and being displaced from his home, Sami now lives with his grandmother in a tent. His condition worsened dramatically due to the complete absence of fresh produce and medical formula—a core part of his nutrition. “He’s in first grade,” his grandmother says, “but he still can’t tell the difference between the number one and two. He can’t write. He can’t focus.” With no access to proper nutrition, Sami struggles daily with concentration and developmental delays.

Skyrocketing prices have made even the most basic vegetables unaffordable for families like hers. “We can’t buy anything anymore,” she says. “He deserves to learn—but without the right nutrition, how can he?” She hopes for regular monthly support to help manage Sami’s condition and provide him with a chance for a better future.

With your support, we remain committed to delivering tailored support to PKU children like Sami —so that they have a chance to grow, learn, and thrive despite the crisis around them.
