On Our Team:
Heba

Site Engineer
I am an architectural engineer with over a decade of experience in emergencies, particularly in my homeland, the Gaza Strip. I graduated in 2010 from the Islamic University and began my career in architectural engineering that same year, joining the Engineers' Syndicate as a professional member.
I joined Rebuilding Alliance in 2021 and served as the focal point for emergency reconstruction and design projects. One notable initiative was the "Family Guided Construction Project," which launched in 2022. This project aimed to assist twenty families in reconstructing their homes and addressing their social issues.
My primary role in the RA is to enhance the living conditions of Gazans who have been under a deliberate blockade for over 14 years, and the war is still ongoing. I am passionate about working on participatory design by conducting interviews with families and analyzing their conditions, technical drawings, visualizations, and documentation. My goal is to advance housing regeneration in Gaza and to expand the range of community rehabilitation projects in the region, especially in the post-war context.
I believe that creating liveable places and a sustainable health environment is a human right for people in any area of the world. However, Gaza is the most difficult and most needed area, because it still has difficulties and is plagued by enormous adversities due to the ongoing war. For me, this position recognizes the integral role that architects have in the development of communities.
